Perth Attractions
Perth could just be Australia’s most underrated city. If you’re looking for a happening vibe, without the overwhelming bustle of Melbourne and Sydney – The wild west if your answer. Perth is home to the third largest fringe festival in the world, an idyllic coastline, a happening CBD and Mary Poppins’ sized bag of secrets. So what are you waiting for? Let Wicked Bucks whisk you away to country’s coolest destination.
Perth Beaches
You’ve probably heard of the West Coast beaches, and that’s for good reason. Perth’s endless stretches of golden sand are worth writing home about. We’d argue that they’re the best in the country, if not the world. There are some big names like Cottesloe and Scarborough, as well as a myriad of lesser known secrets. One of the best aspects of being the most isolated city in the world, is that you’ll likely step foot onto an empty beach. What’s not to love about that?!
Perth City
The CBD of Perth may be small but it certainly punches above its weight. From arts and music to sports and culture, Perth has something going on in every nook and cranny of the CBD. Despite being WA’s capital, you won’t be put through excessive traffic and honking horns. This is one of the only places where white sand beaches, wineries, national parks and museums are all just a hop, skip and a jump from the city centre. P-Town residents also take their food very seriously. The city offers a colourful melting pot of every cuisine you can imagine and many venues deliver the region’s seasonal produce straight to your plate.
Rottnest Island
What’s a trip to WA without a Quokka selfie? There is literally only one place in the world that you can tick this off your bucket list, and Rottnest Island does not disappoint. The idyllic paradise is only a 25 minute boat ride from the mainland but will feel like you’re miles away from the hustle and bustle of the city. With cycling trails, hikes, beaches and bushland, you won’t be short of activities to keep yourself busy. It’s the type of place that will make you forget to take out your phone and capture the perfect snap. You might just have to save this one for yourself. We’re sure your Insta followers will survive.
Perth Festivals
If you’re lucky enough to find yourself in P-Town during the first few months of the year, you’ll be treated to some epic times. The locals call it Feb Fever (potentially because of the 30-plus degree weather) but the experience will have you questioning why you’ve never visited Perth before. Perth Festival has been running for more than half a century, and gets bigger with each year. The Fringe World Festival is the third largest festival in the world, making the across country trip well worth it.
